Be a RAKtivist for Random Acts of Kindness Day
Kindness - it’s good for the world AND for your own wellbeing.
While it may not seem like it if you look at the news headlines right now, humans are wired for connection and kindness. Kindness not only helps others, but it’s also great for our own wellbeing!
Today, Monday the 17th of February, is Random Acts of Kindness Day so we encourage you to find one small way to intentionally act with kindness over the next week.
In our very first Wellbeing Wednesday, we shared that Candice had gone to her normal cafe for her morning soy chai latte and the customer before her had paid for her drink! Candice of course then paid for the next person’s coffee. She felt so grateful and happy that she was teary (in the good way!) all day.
The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation has coined the term RAKtivist and they have heaps of different ideas for making kindness the norm at home, work and school. We hope you can find one that feels good for you!
Sometimes it can feel a bit awkward to do something out of the ordinary but it’s another good opportunity to use your self-compassion skills if those kinds of feelings do come up.
Being a RAKTivist for a day can go a long way as an act of self-care.
